Migrate Classic page layouts to Redwood pages and page groups

With this update, you can migrate all Classic page layouts to Redwood layouts by running a dedicated scheduled process and reducing the need to manually recreate each page layout.

With this update, you can migrate all Classic page layouts to Redwood layouts by running a dedicated scheduled process and reducing the need to manually recreate each page layout.

You can run the scheduled process Migrate Page Layout from the Classic Experience to the Redwood Experience to convert user defined Classic page layouts to page layouts in Redwood experience.

Layout Migration Logic

Initially, all layouts are migrated.

In subsequent migrations, the following logic determines whether a layout is getting migrated again.

Redwood Last Update Date > Redwood Creation Date

Skip (layout has already been modified in Redwood)

Redwood Last Update Date = Redwood Creation Date and Classic experience Last Update Date > Last Migration Date

Migrate (update the existing Redwood layout; do not create a copy)

Redwood Last Update Date = Redwood Creation Date and Classic experience Last Update Date = Last Migration Date

Skip (no changes since the last migration)

Important

  • Within each page layout, only tables and graphs are migrated. Tile sets are not migrated.
  • The migrated layout retains the same layout name as their corresponding classic experience layout.
  • The migrated pages retain the same page layout name as their corresponding classic experience page layouts.
  • Each pane in the classic experience page layout is migrated to a corresponding pane in Redwood experience while preserving the original pane geometry, except Plan Summary Tile Set. Each tile within a Plan Summary Tile Set is migrated as a separate Redwood experience panel. If a tile contains multiple visualizations, they are organized as stacked visualizations within the corresponding panel.
  • Classic experience page layouts containing multiple tabs are migrated into a single Redwood experience page layout, where each tab is represented as a stacked panel within the layout.

Steps to enable and configure

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Tips and considerations

If you want to use the Migrate Classic Page Layouts to Redwood Pages and Page Groups feature, then you must opt in to its parent feature: Replenishment Planning. If you’ve already opted in to this parent feature, then you don’t have to opt in again.
