Eliminate cost processor dependency for transfer price calculation in multi-node intercompany transactions

You can now process multi-node intercompany transactions using item cost-based transfer pricing without waiting for cost processor completion. You can set up an agreement that uses transaction cost for intermediary nodes, and Financial Orchestration will compute the transfer price across eligible intermediary and final nodes and send it directly to Cost Management.

Often, mixed pricing models such as Item Cost to Transaction Cost in multi-node flows can leave transactions stuck in costing, delay invoice generation, and block shipment execution. With this enhancement, you can compute and propagate the transfer price across nodes, so that downstream transaction cost nodes can be valued from the incoming transfer price instead of waiting for callback-driven cost processing.

The transaction cost will be the incoming transfer price from the prior node for intermediary nodes. Financial Orchestration will apply the configured markup to calculate the next node's transfer price. Trade In Transit Issue, Trade Receipt Accrual, and Trade In Transit Receipt events can be generated together and sent to Cost Management without waiting for the costing callback.

• Reduces transactions delays due to missing or delayed Cost Management callbacks.
• Improves invoice timelines for shipment-critical and drop shipment flows.
• Streamlines procurement, shipment, inter-organizational transfer, and drop ship processing where downstream nodes use transaction cost.
• Reduces operational bottlenecks where invoice completion is required before downstream movement.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips and considerations

• This enhancement applies only when transaction cost is the transfer pricing option in intermediary and the last nodes.
• Existing behavior continues for the first node when transfer price uses transaction cost. The other supported transfer pricing options and single node drop shipment flows are unchanged.
• Return flows will be based on the forward flow transfer price.
• Resubmitting the process will calculate missing transfer price values for eligible transactions in error or stuck status.
