Associate a technician to multiple labor resources

Redwood Platform

Define a technician as being qualified for one or more job categories within an organization. Considered throughout the maintenance planning and execution lifecycle, this capability ensures work is assigned to qualified technicians while maintaining accurate labor tracking and reporting.

The screenshot shows Linda Norton configured with multiple job categories, Field Technician and Field Mechanic, so she can be assigned qualified work tracked by skill and operation.

These sections describe where technicians with a single skill or multiple skills are defined and how they are used throughout Oracle Maintenance:

Define labor resources

Each labor resource represents a specific job category or skill that can be used for work definitions, planning, scheduling, assignment, and labor costing.  You can now define the same technician as one or many unique resource instances across resources within an organization. For example: a technician can be defined as both a Mechanic and an Electrician.

Schedule and assign work

Advanced scheduling and assignment considers all resources instances for a job skill when generating scheduling and assignment recommendations.  Technicians that are defined as having multiple skills will have scheduling opportunities across job categories.

Additionally, in Maintenance Supervision, supervisors can search for technicians, review assignments, manually assign or unassign work while considering a technician's single or multiple skills.

Execute maintenance work

On the My Maintenance Work page, technicians can view their assigned work by organization, assign themselves to new qualified work, or unassign from existing work work in consideration of single or multiple skill definitions.

Report Work

Technicians can review and report their qualified and assigned work, in consideration of single or multiple skills definitions.

Improve workforce utilization, scheduling accuracy, and labor costing by enabling technicians to be scheduled, assigned, and reported against single or multiple labor-type resources based on the job category skills required for each maintenance activity.
