Create and manage pricing matrix types
Use the redesigned Pricing Matrix Types page to create and manage pricing matrix types in Pricing with the same underlying functionality as the existing classic Manage Pricing Matrix Types page.
The redesign preserves the existing functionality of pricing matrix types, so you continue to work with the same pricing matrix types concepts and setup behavior as before.
Get these benefits:
- Search for pricing matrix types by matrix type code or name from a single search box.
- Refine the results with filters for Dynamic Matrix Class, Allow Multiple Matrixes, and Active.
- Create a pricing matrix type directly from the Redwood page.
- Use row actions to view, edit, or delete an existing pricing matrix type.
Start on the redesigned Pricing Matrix Types page, where you can search for existing matrix types, refine the results with filters, or select Create to begin a new pricing matrix type:
Create new pricing matrix type
When you select Create, the New pricing matrix type side panel opens. Here you can enter the matrix type code and name, optionally enter a description, select a dynamic matrix class, set Allow Multiple Matrixes and Active as needed. Select Create again to complete the action:

After you enter the required values, select Create to add the price element without leaving the page:

Use the redesigned Pricing Matrix Types page to search, filter, create, and maintain pricing matrix types. The page provides the same underlying functionality as the classic Manage Pricing Matrix Types page in a Redwood experience.
You can manage pricing matrix types in a more modern interface and find, review, and maintain pricing matrix types more efficiently through streamlined search, filters, and direct row actions.
The page introduces a streamlined search experience with a single search box for matrix type code or name, filter chips for Dynamic Matrix Class, Allow Multiple Matrixes, and Active. You can use the row actions to view, edit, or delete a matrix type.
Steps to enable and configure
Follow these steps to enable or disable this feature:
1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_QP_PRICING_MATRIX_TYPES_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option code.
3. In the Profile Values section, set the Site level to Yes or No. The default value is No.
• Yes = enables the feature
• No = disables the feature
4. Select Save and Close. Changes in the profile value will affect users the next time they sign in.
Tips and considerations
- The redesigned page doesn’t change the underlying pricing matrix types functionality.
- Use predefined pricing matrix types, when possible, to reduce maintenance.
- Predefined pricing matrix type codes use the QP_ prefix.
- You can't delete a predefined pricing matrix type.
- Use the search box and filter chips to quickly narrow the list of pricing matrix type before you create or update one.
- Allow Multiple Matrixes controls whether a pricing entity can use more than one matrix.
- Active controls whether the matrix type is available at runtime.
