Create and manage pricing messages

Redwood Platform

Use the redesigned Pricing Messages page to create and manage pricing messages in Pricing with the same underlying functionality as the existing classic Manage Pricing Messages page.

Get these benefits:

  • Search for pricing messages by pricing message name or description from a single search box.
  • Refine the results with filters for message text or pricing.
  • Use row actions to view, edit, or delete an existing pricing message.
  • Create a new pricing message.

Navigation: In the Setup and Maintenance work area, open the Manage Pricing Messages task.

Start on the redesigned Pricing Message page, where you can search for existing messages, refine the results with filters, or select Create to create a new pricing message:

Use pricing messages to describe price elements, explain pricing-related conditions, identify pricing segments or strategies, and provide other pricing details in the charge breakdown. Search for messages by name or description, and filter the list by Message Text or Pricing Entity. From the list, you can view, edit, or delete a pricing message.

Take advantage of a modern, consistent page for maintaining pricing messages while preserving established message and token behavior. This helps administrators manage charge breakdown communication with less disruption to existing pricing processes.

Steps to enable and configure

Follow these steps to enable or disable this feature:

1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.

2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_QP_PRICING_MESSAGES_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option code.

3. In the Profile Values section, set the Site level to Yes or No. The default value is No.

  • Yes = enables the feature
  • No = disables the feature

4. Select Save and Close. Changes in the profile value will affect users the next time they sign in.

Tips and considerations

  • The Redwood page preserves the underlying functionality of the classic Manage Pricing Messages page.
  • Use a predefined pricing message when it meets your requirement to reduce maintenance.
  • Use predefined tokens in the message text. Enclose each token name in curly brackets, for example, {ITEM_NAME}.
  • To identify available token names, use the Manage Pricing Message Token Attribute Definitions task and select the applicable pricing entity.
  • Name, Pricing Entity, and Message Text are required when creating a pricing message. Use uppercase alphabetic text and underscores between words for a new message name.
