Include an introduction in negotiations

Add introduction text to negotiation templates and negotiations in the Redwood experience. This helps maintain consistent company messaging and supplier guidance by allowing category managers to define and reuse standard introduction text across negotiations. When you create a negotiation from a template that contains an introduction, it's automatically copied to the negotiation, helping you maintain consistent company messaging, descriptions, and supplier guidance across sourcing events. You can also enter or update the introduction text in the Cover page and synopsis step while creating a negotiation. Suppliers can view the introduction text on the View Negotiation page and in the negotiation PDF.

This feature is available for all negotiation types, including RFQs, RFIs, auctions, and two-stage RFQs, when General Introduction is enabled in the negotiation style.

Steps to enable and configure

To use this feature, you must enable these profile options if you haven't already.

  • Redwood Pages for Sourcing Enabled (ORA_PON_SOURCING_REDWOOD_ENABLED). 
  • Redwood Page to Create Negotiation Enabled (ORA_PON_CREATE_NEGOTIATION_REDWOOD_ENABLED)

For instructions on enabling a profile option, refer to the Set Profile Option Values topic.

Additionally, the General Introduction control under the Overview section should be enabled in the negotiation style to make the Introduction section available in negotiations.

Users who are assigned a configured job role that contains this existing privilege can access this feature:
