Quickly Create a Case from Another Case
Using the new 'Copy Case' feature, you can use an existing Case as the basis for a new Case.
With just a few clicks and you can use a Case's details, Contacts, Team members and Documents as the basis for your new Case. The new Case is related to the original Case through a 'Copied From' Relationship.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
Specific functions within the Copy Case page will be not available if the user is missing the corresponding privilege:
- SVC_MANAGE_CASE_CONTACTS_PRIV; Contacts (including Primary Contact) will not be copied.
- SVC_VIEW_CASE_ATTACHMENTS_PRIV: Documents will not be copied.
- SVC_VIEW_CASE_TEAM_MEMBERS_PRIV: Team Members will not be copied.
- SVC_ASSIGN_CASE_PRIV: Assignee will not be copied.
- SVC_ASSIGN_CASE_TO_QUEUE_PRIV: Queue will not be copied.
- SVC_MANAGE_CASE_HOUSEHOLDS_PRIV: Primary Household will not be copied.
- SVC_CREATE_OBJECT_LINK_PRIV: The 'Copied From' Relationship will not be created.
Access Requirements
The 'Copy Case' feature is available from the Action Bar to all users who have been granted the 'Crease Case' (SVC_CREATE_CASE_PRIV) and 'View Case' (SVC_VIEW_CASE_PRIV) privileges. These privileges are part of the standard Case Worker, Case Manager and Service Request Administrator job roles.
