Dispatch Console Multi-Day Activity List View
The Dispatch Console Activity List View previously displayed information for only one day, which differed from the Time View, where several days of activities could be shown. Starting with update 24D, it is possible to display activities for multiple days within both the Activity List View and Time View. By default, activities are sorted by date. When 'Apply Hierarchically' is enabled, activities are sorted by date and by resource within the day. Additionally, scheduled and non-scheduled activities can now be displayed in a combined Activity List View.
Show Activities for Several Days (and optionally Non-Scheduled) in the Same List
When you select the Calendar above the List View, you will see the same preset options as the Time View: 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, week, and month. You can define the date range by selecting the start date and the end date. The non-scheduled option remains available as in previous releases. For a combined view of scheduled and non-scheduled activities, enable 'Include Non-Scheduled Activities' from the 'View' menu.
By default, all activities in the List View are sorted by date first. Non-scheduled activities are shown after the scheduled ones. Within a day, activities are grouped by mobile worker if the 'Apply Hierarchically' checkbox is enabled in the View menu.
When in multi-day mode, the list view:
- Displays the resource tree exactly the same as in the Time View in multi-day mode.
- Shows additional information about the date range in the counter at the bottom right corner.
- Contains a new 'Date' column, which can be hidden using the 'Manage Columns' screen.
When switching between the Time and List Views, the selected date range is preserved. The only exception is when you select a date range in the past. In such cases, the List View will not show activities for past date ranges. The date range will be adjusted to start from today.
Drag-and-Drop Activities to List View in Multi-Day Mode
When you drop an activity into the multi-day List View, the 'Move' screen will appear, allowing you to select the desired date. By default, the first date of the date range is selected. This applies to segmentable activities as well.
Export and Print Support in Multi-Day Mode
After selecting the date range and examining activities, you can print or export them. The date range is preserved, and you will export or print the same data that appears on the page.
- Simplify the manual scheduling process by accessing activities for several days within a single view without frequently adjusting the calendar.
- Ensure a fluid presentation of data when switching between the Time View and List View, as the same date range is now shown in both.
- Facilitate holistic work planning with a combined Activity List View, including both scheduled and unscheduled work.
Steps to Enable
By default, the multi-day view is disabled. To enable it, go to Configuration > Display and select the 'Allow multi-day mode on Dispatch Console List View screen' checkbox.
Tips And Considerations
- The multi-day List View does not support activities for past date ranges, as its primary purpose is scheduling future work. When switching from a Time View that shows past days to the List View, the date range will adjust. A toast message will appear at the bottom of the screen to indicate this adjustment.
- If too many simultaneous requests are in progress for the multi-day List View, you will receive the message 'Unable to load list of activities' with the additional description 'Too many requests in progress simultaneously.' If this occurs, wait a few seconds and try again.
- Showing the List View in multi-day mode may dramatically reduce the speed of your request if the following conditions are true:
- A large number of resource routes are simultaneously shown on the page (when 'Apply hierarchically' is enabled).
- Custom sorting is applied.
