Work Zone Key Edit Access

Starting with update 24D, the Edit 'Work Zone Key' button on the Work Zones page is now only visible to users who have configured the 'Business Rules' page in read-write mode. This ensures that only authorized users can modify the work zone key configuration.

In Oracle Field Service, users with the ability to modify work zones need to see how the zone key structure is defined to understand the layout and make work zone-specific adjustments. However, these users might mistakenly modify the key structure instead of just viewing it, leading to misconfiguration of zones. Additionally, users from the audit or compliance department require read-only access to review the configuration of key attributes for verification and reporting purposes. To address these needs, Oracle Field Service now restricts access to the Edit Work Zone Key button, ensuring that only authorized users can modify the key structure.

Steps to Enable

• To enable the Edit Work Zone Key button, users must have configured the 'Business Rules' page in read-write mode.   
• Users without read-write access to the 'Business Rules' page will not see the Edit button and will only be able to view the work zone key configuration.
