Content view event with search highlighting
Currently the event recording behavior in the content portal (CP) widget is that when Search Highlighting is enabled, only Click-through events are being recorded. However, when Search Highlighting is disabled, both Content View and Click-through events are recorded. To rectify this issue and provide more control over event recording, a capability is introduced where a content view event, (which means an article is viewed) is also recorded when search highlighting is enabled.
Business Value:
The key benefit from this is that reports have content view events recorded even when search highlighting is enabled providing more control over event recording
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
An attribute named, 'record_content_view', is created in the widget, /standard/okcs/SearchResult, to control content view event recording when highlighting is enabled in search. Its default value is false. When it is set to true, it records a content view event also when highlighting is enabled. Even clicking on attachments will record a content view event if this attribute is true.
This feature requires an upgrade to 25A.
