Ability to view Attachments from Oracle Fusion Work Order

Oracle Fusion Field Service 25A now supports bi-directional communication with Oracle Fusion attachments. You can take photos and attach them to Fusion work orders, as well as view and download files attached to Service or Maintenance work orders within Oracle Fusion Field Service activities.

You can also preview photo and PDF attachments from Oracle Fusion Service or Oracle Maintenance Cloud directly in Oracle Fusion Field Service and download them for local use.

View and Download Attachments

When you open a screen with the Attachments property, the application will show a list of attachments, including:

  • Files attached to a work order in Fusion Service or Maintenance Cloud.
  • Photos attached in Oracle Fusion Field Service.

Photos and PDF files in the list will have specific icons, while other file types will be shown with a single Attachment icon.

NOTE: To support different types of attachments and ensure a consistent look and feel, the collage view from the previous release has now been replaced with a list view of files.

When you click a row in the list opens the file in the gallery view. You can then preview the most common file formats.

Download Attachments

Another improvement is the ability to download attachments locally when needed. For example, you can download, and view sample instructions shared with mobile workers provided as a Word document. To download, you can click the Download icon next to the file in the list or in the gallery.

Taking Photos

  • For empty property, click the Take photos button.
  • For non-empty property, click a record from the list. The gallery will open, allowing you to add more photos.

Validation

Validation will always apply to photos taken in Oracle Fusion Service, ensuring mobile workers comply with company policies and regulations, regardless of the number of attachments from Fusion work orders.

Deleting Attachments

The Delete option is available only for photos attached in Oracle Fusion Field Service to prevent technicians from removing attachments that cannot be restored.

Supported File Types

The application supports all file types when retrieving attachments from Fusion. In Oracle Fusion Field Service, photos taken still have a .jpg extension.

Business Benefit

Fusion customers will receive comprehensive support for attachments, including bi-directional communication with Fusion attachments.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

In this release, it is not possible to view attachments from Oracle Integration (OCI) Object Storage that were not attached from Oracle Fusion Field Service. This functionality will be implemented in a future release.
