User Types Management Simplified
With the 25D update, the User Types page has been simplified from three tabs to a single view. The previous Screens tab is now available as a separate Screens link on the main Configuration page, making it easier to access and manage all screens and context layout structures in the application. For Fusion Field Service customers, Screen configuration is now shared across all user types, so you no longer need to select a user type on the Screens page. The new single-view User Types page now includes all settings that were previously found in the General tab, as well as the Filters Restricting Visible Activities field, which was formerly in the Restrictions and Filters tab.
The Field Restrictions section which contains the Hide All Activities and Hide Activity Fields checkboxes with their related Starting combo boxes is being deprecated. These settings will be hidden during the upgrade to 25D for customers who are not using them, and will remain visible only for customers actively using them. Their removal is planned for 2026, and specific timelines will be communicated once available.

User Types
Import and export operations have also been separated between the User Types and Screens configuration areas. Files exported from the User Types page should be imported through that same page, while files created using the new Screens page must be imported through Screens.
These updates help administrators manage Screen configurations more easily and with fewer steps. For example, a system admin responsible for maintaining UI consistency can now quickly access all page configurations through a single location. If they attempt to import a file with elements not supported by the selected page or context layout structures, a clear validation message will appear, and the unsupported items will be skipped to ensure the configuration remains stable.
Business Benefits
- Simplifies access and management of Screen and User Types configurations
- Reduces potential for configuration errors through improved validation
- Helps administrators work more efficiently by separating relevant import and export functions
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- Import compatibility: Files exported from the User Types page should only be imported back through the same page. Likewise, files exported from the Screens page should be imported through Screens.
- Version compatibility: The new version supports older export files, but files exported from 25D won't be compatible with earlier versions.
