Continuous Routing Consolidated Reporting and Overnight Scheduling
The new consolidated unassigned activity report for Continuous Improvement (CI) routing provides a single, unified view of all activities that were not assigned during routing runs, along with the specific reasons for non-assignment. This streamlines issue identification and resolution. Additionally, an overnight scheduling option enables routing plans to operate seamlessly across business days.
Continuous Routing Consolidated Reporting
A new consolidated summary report has been introduced for activities not assigned by the Continuous Improvement (CI) routing plan. This report provides a comprehensive overview of all non-assignment reasons for activities processed during Continuous Routing runs, making it easier for users to identify and address issues that prevented assignment.
Within the Routing Summary tab, only outcomes from resultative runs of the Continuous Routing plan are displayed. These are runs where at least one activity was assigned, rescheduled, or reordered. All other runs in which no activities were assigned are now grouped together in a single consolidated summary report.
Instead of displaying a separate report for each run where no activities were assigned, the system now generates a consolidated report that summarizes all unassigned activities for the plan and bucket, with one line per activity. The report includes a summary of all assignments not made (activity-related, not resource-related), resulting in one line per activity. The consolidated report is timestamped with the date and run ID of the most recent run in which no assignments were made for that particular plan, bucket, and date. Please note, the Rollback and Comparison tab is not available in this consolidated report.
Overnight Continuous Routing
An overnight schedule configuration is now supported, allowing users to set a schedule such as 05:00 to 02:00 (5 AM to 2 AM the next day). This enables the plan to operate seamlessly across days.
Use Cases
- Rapid Troubleshooting: Operations teams can quickly identify and resolve common reasons for unassigned activities by reviewing a consolidated list of non-assignment reasons.
- Performance Analysis: Managers can use the consolidated report to detect recurring assignment issues, supporting data-driven process improvements and more effective workforce planning.
- Overnight Service Coverage: Organizations with extended or overnight service hours can continuously manage activity assignments that span multiple business days automatically.
Business Benefit:
-
Faster Issue Resolution: Users can quickly see all the reasons activities were not assigned in a single, consolidated report, streamlining the troubleshooting process.
-
Overnight Scheduling Efficiency: The overnight configuration allows continuous routing to operate across days, enabling efficient assignment of late-shift and cross-day activities to support continuous operations.
Steps to Enable
- No setup is required to access the Continuous Routing consolidated report; it is enabled by default.
- To utilize overnight Continuous Routing, simply configure the desired schedule within the Continuous Routing plan settings.
Tips And Considerations
Continuous Routing is not triggered if an activity is only compatible with resources that are flagged as Do not assign. Additionally, the non-assignment reason for activities that are not active triggers for the Continuous Routing run is not included in the consolidated report.
