Generate Articles for Custom Content Types

Knowledge authors can now use AI Assist to generate articles for custom content types. Previously, only FAQ and Solution articles could be generated.

Authors can save time by generating knowledge articles for all content types.

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

The LLM will use the AI configuration descriptions to understand how to generate content for each text attribute, so it's important to ensure that these descriptions thoroughly cover the content. Moreover, the descriptions will also be used when AI is leveraging content from a custom content type, such as from a RAG AI Agent. We recommend writing descriptions that fully describe the content and attribute, but without specifying generation.

As you see in the "Steps" description in the screenshot below, it outlines what content will be found in the attribute, but doesn't mention writing the content. In contrast to "Write a short paragraph...", which might work ok for generating the content, but wouldn't work as well in the RAG use case.

Besides descriptions for each attribute, it's also essential to provide a good content type description so that AI will understand the purpose of the document as a whole.

The AI configuration for a content type is available when editing it in Setup and Maintenance under the Manage Knowledge Content Types Redwood task.
