Post-Machine Learning VEE Processing Support

If needed, you can define Validation, Estimation, and Editing (VEE) Groups that are executed after machine learning (ML) processing. These groups are referred to as "Post-ML VEE" groups and are defined for the Post-ML VEE Role on measuring component types and measuring components. Note that Post-ML VEE Groups can only be used when machine learning is enabled for the measuring component or measuring component type via the Enable ML Based Validation or Enable ML Based Validation (Fallback) flag (respectively).

This allows projects to call traditional Validation, Estimation, and Editing rules in addition to machine learning processing.

Steps to Enable

To enable this feature, complete these steps:

  1. Create a VEE group containing the VEE rules you would like to run after machine learning processing.
  2. Associate the VEE group to the new "Post-ML VEE" group role as a fallback on the measuring component type or directly on the measuring component.

NOTE: Only certain rules are enabled for Post-ML by default. This is to avoid rules that are redundant to machine learning processing from being called. If there is a rule that is disabled for Post-ML but is required for your system, you can enable it by adding the Valid for Post-ML Processing (Y/N) option to the VEE Rule business object. This should not be enabled for rules such as Interval High/Low Check and Spike Check.

To configure this feature, refer to the Defining Validation, Editing, and Estimation (VEE) Options section in the Administrative User Guide for more information.

Tips And Considerations

The functionality documented here was available in version 25.4 through Maintenance Pack 4.3.1 (Bug 38038735).
