Calculation Rule Eligibility Characteristic Effective Date Source

For a Rate Calculation Rule Eligibility Criteria, you can configure the Effective Date Source option to control how effective characteristic values are retrieved.  You select either "Consumption Start Date" or "Bill Segment Start Date"'  If an Effective Date Source is not specified on a rate calculation rule eligibility criteria, the value configured in the Rate Engine Configuration master configuration is used.  If neither is configured, the existing behavior of using the Bill Segment Start Date is retained.

This feature provides greater flexibility in configuring how rate eligibility is evaluated.

Steps to enable and configure

To enable and configure this feature, complete these steps:

  1. For applicable rate calculation rule eligibility criteria, set the Effective Date Source option to "Consumption Start Date".
  2. To define the default for eligibility criteria that do not have an Effective Date Source configured, create a Rate Engine Configuration master configuration if one does not exist. Set its Effective Date Source option to the applicable value.
