Premise Portal

The Premise page has been converted to a portal, leveraging a more flexible and extendable user interface metaphor. The portal organizes information in a way that makes it easier to review premise data and includes the following key features:

  • Key premise details that used to be displayed across multiple tabs in the legacy page are now displayed on the Main tab.
  • A premise tree is included in the Main tab to provided a quick view of key premise details.
  • Viewing and maintaining the main and alternate addresses is enhanced to be more intuitive and leverages easy to use drawer forms.

Note: If your organization uses a customer BPA to validate a premise address the process of adding a new premise still uses the legacy premise page due to technical limitations. Once the premise is added, the new premise portal is used and supports the same validation flow when editing an address.

  • Additional information is provided in new tabs
    • Customer History
    • Usage History
    • Activity History
    • Premise Hierarchy. This tab is visible when the premise is part of a premise hierarchy.
  • If your implementation had custom zones as part of the legacy page's Premise Portal tab these would appear under an Additional Information tab. The recommendation is for your organization to review these custom zones and move them to any of the more relevant tabs when applicable.

A Premise (Legacy) action is available that allows the user to navigate to the legacy page. Navigation to the legacy page is also available from the premise context menu. These options are provided to handle unforeseen situations that may only be resolved using the legacy page.

Along with a standard maintenance portal, a new premise query portal is also provided to search for a premise record. The new query portal supports all filtering options supported by the legacy search. Users with access to the legacy page are also granted access to the new premise query and maintenance portals.

Converting the Premise page to a portal allows for a more comprehensive view of premise data and supports a better user experience in maintaining and reviewing this data.

Steps to enable and configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips and considerations

A new business object for Premise and a new Determine BO algorithm linked to the Maintenance Object were introduced. The base business object includes all the user interface behavior designed for the new portal. If your implementation has introduced your own Customer Modification (CM) business object and CM Determine BO algorithm, you should review your business object's configuration and align it with the base business object.

System administrators should review and determine which user groups should be granted access to the following application services.

  • Premise Query Portal (C1PRMQ)
  • Premise Portal (C1PRMPTL)

Upgrade scripts ensure that users with Read access to the existing application service (CILCPRMP) will have access to the new application service associated with the new portal.
