Communication Preferences Portal

Idea Lab

You can use the Communication Preferences portal to maintain person contacts and notification preferences for an account, one person at a time. It supports both push and subscription notification preferences. You can access the portal from the Account context menu. It provides an updated experience for maintaining notification preferences previously supported on the Account - Portal tab.

Account-level and service agreement-level preferences are displayed and maintained in a combined experience, with service agreement-level preferences identified.  For each account-level notification type, you can manage preferences for the selected person’s applicable contact details.  For each service agreement-level notification type, you can manage preferences for a selected person contact across applicable service agreements.  Filters help you find relevant service agreements when an account has many service agreements.

The portal supports notification types configured with characteristic-based notification parameters or, for account-level notification types only, service task-based parameters. You can maintain parameter values for eligible notification types.  Characteristic-based parameters are not supported on the Account - Portal tab.

Previously inactivated notification preferences cannot be reactivated. This behavior is consistent with the existing inbound web services used to maintain preferences.

This feature simplifies communication preference administration by centralizing account-level and service agreement-level preferences in one portal.

Steps to enable and configure

Provide the required access before using the feature. Details are in the Access #Requirements section.

Tips and considerations

If your implementation does not use service agreement-level notification types, you can continue to manage account-level communication preferences using the existing Account – Portal tab. You can also use the new Communication Preferences portal.
