Business/Person Contact Type Sync

The new W1-Contact business object manages both Person and Business entities, allowing customers to change between entity types. It is recommended for new deployments. A corresponding D1-Contact business object is also available in Meter Data Management. Existing deployments can opt in during upgrade. Existing contact records do not need to be updated, assuming their Customer Entity records have the correct entity type.

This feature simplifies correcting customer entities created with the wrong entity type. Previously, business users had to delete the record in the application and in any downstream applications where it was synchronized. If the entity had transactions, deletion might not be possible and a data fix was required. Business users can now update the Person/Business flag, and the change is synchronized to downstream applications.

Steps to enable and configure

To enable and configure this feature, complete these steps:

1. Create a new Contact Type corresponding to the new business object, W1-Contact.
2. Add Data Value Mapping to map the Meter Data Management business object, D1-Contact, to W1-Contact.
