Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service is responsible for calculating the financial settlement amount for the customer's participation in demand response events based on commercial demand-based programs. At the conclusion of the demand response event, Oracle Utilities Grid Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management Systems sends the device to an analytics engine and Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service. The analytics component computes the demand reduction achieved during the event duration and passes it to Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service as a series of "kW Drop" values. The maximum “kW Drop” value is captured as the “Maximum Drop” for each event.

At the end of a specified period of time (a year, a season, and so on), Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service uses the average of a set of the highest “Maximum Drop” values and price data to calculate the amount to credit to the enrolled customer who participated in the events that took place during the time period. These credit amounts are sent to the CIS application for processing on the customer's energy bill.

This compliments the settlement feature by adding support for event and periodic settlements needed for customers enrolled in commercial demand-based programs.
