Change a Credit Rule for a New Participant Assignment

In this example, change the credit receivers due to a new participant assignment. There's no change in qualifying criteria for the credit rule.

The example credit rule has the qualifying criteria of a territory name. A new participant is assigned to this territory on the first of next month. The current credit receiver is moving to a new job role.
Caution: Don't delete the current credit receiver. Deleting the credit receiver can result in their credits and earnings being deleted if crediting is run on dates that included the participant's credits and earnings.

  1. Navigate to the Participant Assignments work area.
  2. In the task menu, click Manage Direct Credit Rules.
  3. Search for and select the rule for North America Direct Sales. This rule has the qualifying criteria of Territory Name and the value North America Direct Sales.
  4. In the Credit Receivers tab, click Add.
  5. Select the type Individual and select the name of the new participant.
  6. Enter a start date for the first of next month, and enter an end date that matches the end date of the rule.
  7. Change the end date for the previous participant to the end of this month.
  8. Save your changes.
