Why can't I enable fields for the number of leads, opportunities, and activities for contacts in Adaptive Search?

You can't enable fields that show totals for Adaptive Search because Oracle is replacing the classic aggregate fields with Rollups. With Update 24B, all classic aggregate fields will be deprecated and no longer supported. Aggregate fields, including NumberOfOpenLeads and NumberOfOpenOpportunities for contacts, are now disabled in the Adaptive Search setup page. To achieve the same search functionality, you can enable the equivalent rollup fields instead.

Here's an overview of the setup:

  1. Open the Define Rollups work area from Application Composer outside the sandbox.

  2. Search for the rollup equivalent to the aggregate field you want to enable. For example, for NumberOfOpenLeads, search for Number of Open Leads.
  3. Drill into the rollup and publish it (Actions > Publish).
  4. Enable the rollup field for Adaptive Search and publish.
