Why does global search return different results for users with the same query?

When using global search, the results can be different for different users using the same query. This can happen for many different reasons. For example, records that you can view are based on your position in the management chain and the security permissions assigned to you.

Here are some troubleshooting tips that you can use to identify why global search results might be different for different users who perform the same query.
  • Check the assigned data security predicates for Parties and compare them with the Workspace-supported security data predicates. For example, the Access the sales party for table HZ_PARTIES for all customers in the enterprise data security policy must be present for the predefined Sales Representative role.
  • From the Tools > Scheduled Processes page, search for and run the Retrieve Latest LDAP Changes and Import User and Role Application Security Data Process processes.
  • You can also search for and run the Search Index Optimization and Full Text Search Index Synchronization processes from the Tools > Scheduled Processes page.
