Generate Sales Forecast Metrics Snapshot
Use the Generate Sales Forecast Metrics Snapshot scheduled process to take a snapshot of the sales forecast metric data and is used in creating time trend analyses in sales forecasting.
When to Use
- This scheduled process takes a snapshot of upto 16 sales forecast metrics for each resource, territory, product group, and revenue category type dimensions.
- By default this runs weekly, but can be scheduled to run daily, weekly, or monthly.
- The snapshots generated by running this process are used to show the trend analysis for the key sales forecast metrics. You may use the Changes since, Changes since last period, and Changes since last year filters in the Forecast Overview page.

Run regularly; weekly is a common schedule, especially when you need ongoing trend analysis of the key sales forecast metrics.
- You can also schedule weekly, monthly, yearly, or on a custom cadence depending on your business needs.
- Use off-peak hours where possible. Configure timing using the Advanced tab when submitting/scheduling the process from Scheduled Processes.

- Processing time varies based on the number of opportunities and territories or resources.
- Compatibility:
- You can't run multiple instances of this process at the same time.
- None of the sales forecast scheduled processes can run in parallel.
