Generate Sales Historical Snapshots
Use the Generate Sales Historical Snapshot scheduled process to capture opportunity and revenue snapshots for open opportunities and opportunities closed within the time period you specify.
When to Use
- You get daily snapshots of your sales pipeline and snapshots of opportunity and revenue trends over time.
- The Generates Sales Historical Snapshots feature uses the Sales - CRM Historical Pipeline subject area to cull information on your key pipeline data.
- Configure the profile option MOO_MANAGE_SALES_HISTORICAL_SNAPSHOT_CONFIGURATION
with values C=120, D=120, W=58, M=14, Q=5, which control snapshot creation and
retention behavior.
- C is number of create snapshots for closed opportunities closed within the last C days. This value must be greater than zero.
- D is number of days to retain daily snapshots. This value must be greater than zero.
- W is umber of weeks to retain weekly snapshots if the enterprise calendar is a week based calendar.
- M is number of months to retain monthly snapshots if the enterprise calendar is a month based calendar.
- Q is number of quarters to retain a quarterly snapshot.
- Note that a maximum of 10 million records (opportunity and revenue combined) are supported. When this limit reached, the process automatically purges the oldest snapshots until the count is below the limit.

You can set up a snapshot to run once, or set it up to run weekly, or monthly, or on your own time frame. You can also choose the number of days after which opportunities have been closed to continue to take a snapshot of the opportunity and its corresponding revenue information.

Execution Time:
- Processing time varies based on the number of opportunities and territories or resources.
- Compatibility:
- You can't run multiple instances of this process at the same time.
- None of the sales forecast scheduled processes can run in parallel.

- If snapshots aren’t retained as expected, verify the profile option values (C, D, W, M, Q) and adjust based on retention needs. Note that retention applies from the day the MOO_MANAGE_SALES_HISTORICAL_SNAPSHOT_CONFIGURATION profile option is changed, subject to the 10M record limit.
- Monitor run status and set success/error/warning notifications using the Notifications tab when scheduling in Scheduled Processes.
