Custom Dimensions for Revenue Assignment Example
This example models sales organizations where salespeople are responsible for either new sales or renewal and expansion sales.
- Use Manage Standard Lookups to create the lookup type ORA_MOO_REVN_CATEGORY_TYPE with the lookup codes New, Renew, and Expansion.
- Use Application Composer to add the Revenue Tpe Category field to Revenue Table columns in the Opportunity Details page.
- In Setup and Maintenance, open the Enable Dimensions and Metrics task. select the Edit action, and add the Extension 2 dimension.
- For the dimension source find and select the lookup type ORA_MOO_REVN_CATEGORY_TYPE.
- Save and close.
- Perform the Load and Activate action. Use the Refresh Status action to monitor processing and completion of the processes.
- In Setup and Maintenance, use the Manage Sales Assignment Manager Objects task and add a mapping for the Revenue object.
- In the Attributes tab add the Revenue Type Category attribute.
- In the Candidates tab select Territory and the Territory: Mapping Sets tab.
- Select the Sales Account mapping set.
- Click Add and enter these values:

Results:
Now you can define territories with a Revenue Type Category coverage, and use this information when assigning territories to revenue lines.
