Can I modify the phone types for accounts and contacts?

Phone types for accounts and contacts are stored in the lookup type, ORA_HZ_PHONE_TYPE. While you can't disable the existing ones, you can rename them.

Here's how:

  1. In Setup and Maintenance, go to the following:

    • Offering: Sales

    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation

    • Show: All Tasks

    • Task: Manage Standard Lookups

  2. On the Manage Standard Lookups page, search for the lookup type code, ORA_HZ_PHONE_TYPE.

  3. Here are the available values for sales:

    • Mobile
    • Work
    • Home
    • Fax
    • Land
  4. Edit the meanings as needed.

  5. Click Save and Close.
