Create Depot Repair Work Order

Follow these steps to create a depot repair work order.

Note: The Create Depot Repair Work Order window supports the creation of repair work orders for nonserialized and serialized assets.
  1. Open the Manage Depot Repair page.

  2. In the Manage Depot Repair page, enter your inputs to look for the depot repair RMA in your depot repair organization.

  3. To create a depot repair order, select the RMA line and then click Repair. This will open the Create Depot Repair Work Order window where you'll enter information to create the repair order.

Create Repair Order:

  1. Use information from the table below to create the repair order for the broken part.

    Attribute

    Description

    Work Order

    System generated. Unique identifier of the work order.

    Asset

    Defaults from the service request.

    Status

    The status of the maintenance work order during its life cycle. Valid values are Unreleased, Released, On Hold, Completed, Closed, and Canceled.

    Type

    The maintenance work order type.

    Organization

    The maintenance inventory organization. Defaults from the current location where the asset is being repaired.

    Subtype

    The subtype of the maintenance work order. Select from the drop-down list.

    Priority

    The priority of the execution of the maintenance work order.

    Planned Start Date and Planned Completion Dates

    Select as per your plan.

    Work Definition

    The maintenance work definition. Defines the maintenance process in an organization and decides the routing operation, resources, and materials required to perform the repair. Choose from the drop-down list.

  2. Click Save and Close once done. The repair order is created. Note that the order number is displayed in the Manage Depot Repair page against the selected RMA line.

  3. To create more than one work order for the same RMA line, open the Create Depot Repair Work Order window again and enter the details. When multiple work orders exist for the same RMA line, the most recent work order is displayed in the Manage Depot Repair page.

Add Project Details to the Work Order:

  1. Expand the Project Details region.

  2. Add the following project attributes to the work order:

    • Project Number

    • Task Number

    • Expenditure Item Date

    • Expenditure Type

    Note: The Expenditure Organization is a read-only attribute and defaults to the debrief maintenance work order organization.
  3. Other than the key attributes mentioned before, any other attributes that are defined in the projects setup will also be visible in this region.

You can only associate projects to the depot repair work orders if you've opted in to the Project-Driven Supply Chain feature and completed the required integration setups with Projects.

Access the Depot Repair Workbench:

  1. Click the RMA Number link. This will open the Depot Repair Workbench where you can view and manage all logistics and billing activities for the selected RMA line.
