Update the Disbursement Amounts

You can Update the Disbursement Total Amount, Incremental Amount and/or Incremental Net Amount.

Overview

There are no validations or updates that are automatically made to loan fees. Therefore, you will need to use the disbursement’s current loan fee rates to determine what the net and gross amounts should be to avoid rejects with COD.

Tips for updating the Disbursement Amount (Disbursing vs Disb Admin)

If you updated Disbursement Amounts directly through COD and you need to update the Student Financial Planning User Interface, complete the updates through Disbursement Administration. If however, you need to update COD, make Disbursement Amount updates through the Disbursing screen instead of Disbursement Administration. When you make the update to the disbursement amount on the Disbursing screen, Student Financial Planning automatically creates the correct Disbursement/Sequence Numbers to correctly update COD.

Required Role Permissions

The user must have a role with the following General Permission(s) through Roles Management in order to complete the manual processing steps listed below.

  • Administration
  • System Management
  • Disbursement Administrator

Manual Processing Steps

Log into the Student Financial Planning User Interface (UI)

  1. Navigate to Administration > System Management > Disbursement Administration
  2. Enter the student's External Student ID in the search field and select the student
  3. Double click the Disbursement Amount you want to update and enter new amount
  4. Click Save Disbursement Records
    • Confirm Updates
    • Refresh screen and review updates

    In this scenario, if you need to communicate the updates to COD:

    • To send only the updated disbursement record(s) to COD, click Re-originate to the right of each updated disbursement.
    • To send all disbursement records to COD, click Send Originations to COD.
  5. Review disbursing screen and confirm updates.
