Add Ownership for Courses

When you create a course, you must assign ownership and an academic level.

  1. Click the Ownership tab.

  2. Click Assign Ownership.

    You can assign only one entity type (an academic organization) as owner of a course. The available academic organization is the one that has been assigned to the academic subject.

  3. Click the entity.

    It appears in the Current Selections box.

  4. Click Assign.

  5. Click the Actions ellipsis.

  6. Click Edit Academic Levels to assign an academic level.

    You must assign an academic level when you create a course.

  7. Click Add Row and select an academic level.

  8. Click Update.

To add requisites for the course, go to the Requisites tab. Add Requisites for Courses

If you don't need to add requisites for the course and you've completed your course data entry, here are the final steps to create the course:

  1. Go to the Details tab.

  2. Change the status of the course to Active.

    Note: All required fields plus ownership and academic level data must be saved before you can set a course to active.
    Note: A course must be active before you can create course sections.
  3. Click Save.
