Create a Sandbox for Service Mapping

Use sandboxes to make and test application changes without impacting other users in the environment.

Sandboxes isolate untested configuration changes from the mainline environment. This enables you to test your changes in the sandbox and then publish the changes to make the changes available in the mainline metadata or in other sandboxes.

When you create a new service mapping, you first create a sandbox to edit your service mapping context. If you attempt to access the Manage Service Mappings page outside of a sandbox, then the actions that you need to edit the mapping, such as Add Row, are disabled.

To create a new sandbox:

  1. From the Maintenance work area, select Manage Service Mappings.
  2. Click Go to the Sandboxes Page to access the Sandbox work area.
  3. In the Sandbox work area, click Create Sandbox.
  4. Enter a name and a description for your sandbox.
  5. Select Yes for the Publishable field.
  6. Select Manage Service Mappings in the All Tools table.
  7. Click Create and Enter to enter or activate the sandbox.
