How You Manage Condition Event Codes

Condition event codes are optionally defined for use across maintenance task flows:

  • Codes can be defined for a maintenance program work requirement for condition-based maintenance. The codes will be reference through an integration with the Oracle IoT Asset Monitoring Cloud Service.
  • Codes can be used to create of maintenance work orders by using a special action.
  • Codes can be defined within a standard operation for use in supplier warranty claims and entitlements.
  • Codes can be defined for supplier warranty coverages and contracts.
  • Codes can be validated for creating work orders by the result of a quality inspection.
  • Codes are used to define the failure, cause, and resolution in work order failure capture.

The Manage Condition Event Codes page enables you to search for, create, and edit the condition event codes. In the Maintenance work area, from the Tasks pane, click the Manage Condition Event Codes link to open the Manage Condition Event Codes page.

You can perform a basic keyword search to look for one or more condition event codes. To create a condition event code, click the Add icon. A new row is added in the table in which you can select from or enter the details. The Code is the only required field. Optionally, you can select the type and inactive date, and enter the name and description for the new condition event code.

You can edit a condition event code by selecting a row and clicking the Edit icon. All fields except the Code are editable. After a condition event code is created, it's automatically synchronized with IoT using a REST service.

The Manage Condition Event Codes page displays a table with the following columns that also act as input fields:

Type

The type of the condition event code. The valid values are:

  • Diagnostic code

  • Failure code

  • Cause code

  • Resolution code

  • Transaction Code
  • Reason for return code
  • Work accomplished code

Code

A unique identifier of the condition event code. Once the condition event code is created, the code can't be updated.

Name

The name of the condition event code.

Description

The description of the condition event code.

Inactive Date

The date on which the condition event code becomes inactive.

Note: You can only set an inactive date if the code is not referenced in a maintenance program, supplier warranty coverage, failure set, or fault capture event. Else an error is presented.
Note: Condition event codes can also be managed via REST API.
