Receiving Transaction Date Validations

You can validate the receiving transaction date during receipt transactions for inventory, expense, and work order destination purchase orders, transfer orders, return material authorizations (RMAs), and in-transit shipments.

Here are the receiving transactions that include receipt validation:

  • Receipt creation

  • Put aways

  • Inspections

  • Corrections

  • Returns

You can also enter the past date for receive, inspect, put away, correct, and return transactions based on the values of these inventory and receiving profile options:

  • Transaction Date Validation Enabled inventory profile option is set to No validation.

  • Maximum Number of Days Prior to Current Date in Which a Transaction Can Be Created inventory profile option is set to the default value of 5 days.

You can modify this default value based on how many days you want to allow for back dating receiving transactions. Use this profile option for inventory and work order destination transactions.

  • Maximum Number of Days Prior to Current Date in Which an Expense Destination Transaction Can Be Created receiving profile option is set to the default value of 180 days.

You can modify this default value based on how many days you want to allow for back dating receiving transactions. Use this profile option for expense destination transactions.

The application also validates the shipped date entered during ASN creation for drop ship purchase orders.

Receipt validation occurs for receiving transactions created through the UI, as well as through file based data import (FDBI), and REST and SOAP services. You receive an error message in the UI when the entered date isn't within the acceptable threshold. For inventory transactions created using the Receiving Receipt FDBI, the error message displays in the Receiving interface. For receiving transactions created using REST and SOAP services, the error message displays in the service response. You can correct the transaction date and reprocess the transaction.
