Set Up Internal Requisition Transfer Orders from Self-Service Procurement for Planned and Non-Planned Items

You can create internal requisitions transfer orders from Self-Service Procurement for both planned and non-planned items. There's a minor difference in setups to create internal requisitions for planned and non-planned items.

Common Setup Steps

Here are the common setup steps:

  1. Enable the Internal Material Transfer feature for Self Service Procurement if not already enabled:

    1. From the Setup and Maintenance work area, select the Procurement offering.

    2. Select Change Feature Opt In in the Functional Area menu.

    3. Select Self-Service Procurement.

    4. Click the Edit icon in the Features column.

    5. Select the Enable check box for Internal Material Transfers. The child feature Fulfill Expense Requisitions for Agreement Based Catalog Items from Internal Source also selects automatically.

    6. Click Done.

  2. Enable supply availability details on the Configure Requisitioning Business Function page. Select the Enable supply availability for internal transfers check box.

  3. Create interorganization parameters between source and destination organizations on the Manage Interorganization Parameters page.

  4. Assign inventory organizations to respective locations on the Manage Locations page.

  5. Create shipping method and assign to organizations on the Edit Carriers page.

  6. Create transit times between source and destination locations on the Manage Transit Times page.

  7. Create on-hand in source organizations. Provide cost details while creating transactions.

  8. Transfer inventory transactions to costing. Run the Transfer Inventory Transactions to Costing process.

  9. Create the cost accounting distributions. Run the Create Cost Accounting Distributions process.

  10. Review item costs. Cost should be defined for item to be transferred.

  4. Create ATP rules and assign to inventory organization.

  5. Create sourcing rule to transfer from other inventory organizations and assign to assignment set.

  6. Run the Refresh and Start the Order Promising Server process.

Process Flow

Let's look at the overall process flow for creating internal requisitions transfer orders from Self-Service Procurement. After your initial setup is complete, perform these steps:

  1. Create a requisition and select the source type as Inventory (Purchase Requisitions work area > Enter Requisition Line page).

  2. Click Supply Source and select the source organization. Note that this list comes from the sourcing rule for planned items. For non-planned items, the source organization priority ranking is based on the Distance parameter set up in the interorganization parameters for the From Organization and To Organization pair (Enter Requisition Line page).

  3. Add the requisition to your cart and submit the requisition for approval. This automatically generates a transfer order. Write down the transfer order number for future reference (Enter Requisition Line page and Shopping Cart).

  4. Create the pick wave to release the transfer order (Create Pick Wave page).

  5. Ship confirm the transfer order (Edit Shipment page).

  6. Receive transfer order in destination organization (Receive Expected Shipments and Receive Lines pages).

  7. Put away transfer order in the destination organization.

  8. Check transfer order and requisition details (Shipments and Receipts page).
