Manage Shipping Requirements for Portugal

All Portugal shipping documents must have this information.

  • E-signature: All shipping documents: packing slips, bill of ladings, commercial invoices, and relevant tax documents must have an e-signature, which is a way to authenticate, validate the document.

  • Gapless document sequence: All shipping documents must have a unique, gapless, sequential number. This sequence is used in generating the e-signature.

  • QR code: The Portuguese tax authority requires all shipping documents include a two-dimensional QR code to simplify invoices communication and monitor taxpayer transactions. QR code must be legible and present on the last page of the shipping document. QR code is applicable for drop ship orders, sales orders, transfer orders, return to vendor, and outside processing shipments. This requirement affects organizations in Portugal. These organizations must adapt their invoicing systems to the new government requirements.

  • Unique Document Code (ATCUD): The Portuguese tax authority requires all shipping documents to include a unique document code. ATCUD must be legible and present on all the pages of the shipping document. This requirement affects organizations in Portugal.

  • AT Doc Code ID: You can add the AT Doc Code ID to your shipments once you obtain it from the Portuguese tax authority after ship confirmation.
