Manually Release Replenishment Orders

This topic explains how replenishment orders are manually released for a replenishment plan that's been run.

To manually release replenishment orders, you must use the Supplies and Demands page for the replenishment plan. Before manually releasing replenishment orders, you can edit them using one of the following:

  • the Supplies and Demands page

  • the edit-in-spreadsheet feature

Edit and Manually Release Replenishment Orders Using the GUI

Follow these steps to edit and manually release a replenishment order using the Supplies and Demands page:

  1. Open the replenishment plan through one of these ways:

    • Use the Manage Plans page:

      1. On the Tasks panel tab, under Plans, select Manage Plans.

        The Manage Plans page opens.

      2. Under Search Results, select the replenishment plan that you want to open, and click Actions > Open.

        The replenishment plan opens in a separate page.

    • On the Plans panel tab, under Plans, right-click the replenishment plan that you want to open, and select Open.

      The replenishment plan opens in a separate page.

  2. Click the Open drop-down button.

    The Open Table, Graph, or Tile Set dialog box opens.

  3. Search for the Supplies and Demands table, and open it.

    The Supplies and Demands page opens under the replenishment plan.

  4. Under Search, perform a search for item-location combinations for which the value in the Order Type column is Planned order, and the value in the Release Status column is Release.

    The replenishment orders generated by the replenishment plan are listed as planned orders on the Supplies and Demands page.

    The rows with values under the Source Organization column represent transfer orders, while the rows with values under the Supplier and Supplier Site columns represent purchase orders.

  5. Select the item-location combination for which you want to manually release the replenishment order.

    • Follow these steps to make changes before releasing the replenishment order:

      These changes are lost the next time you run the replenishment plan.

      1. Under Search Results, click Actions > Mark for Release.

        The row is marked with the Changed icon, and the release status for the item-location combination changes to Marked for release.

        The quantity in the Order Quantity column is copied to the Implement Quantity column.

      2. If required, edit the values in the implementation-related and Shipping Method, Source Organization, Supplier, and Supplier Site columns.

    • Follow these steps to firm the planned orders:

      Note: You don't always have to firm planned orders before releasing them. Whether you firm planned orders depends on your business requirements.
      1. Under Search Results, click Actions > Mark for Release.

        The row is marked with the Changed icon, and the release status for the item-location combination changes to Marked for release.

      2. Under Firm Status, select Firm.

        The quantity in the Order Quantity column is copied to the Firm Quantity column.

      3. Enter values under the Firm Date, Firm Quantity, and other editable columns.

        The values under the Firm Date and Firm Quantity columns persist until you change them. The firm planned orders persist across plan runs until you change the status under the Firm Status column to Not firm or the replenishment plan is run with All selected in the Overwrite Firm Planned Orders field on the General subtab of the Supply tab of the Plan Options page.

  6. Repeat the previous step for the item-location combinations for which you want to manually release replenishment orders.

  7. To change your decision about manually releasing a replenishment order, select the row, and under Search Results, click Actions > Unmark for Release.

    The release status for the item-location combination changes to Release.

  8. Save the replenishment plan.

  9. On the Actions menu for the replenishment plan, select Release.

    The Release Plan dialog box appears.

  10. Click Yes.

    The Plan Status Details dialog box appears and displays the status of the release process.

  11. Click OK to return to the Supplies and Demands page.

  12. Under Search, click View > Refresh.

    For the manually released replenishment orders, the value under the Release Status column changes to Released and under the Action column to None.

Edit Replenishment Orders Using a Spreadsheet and Manually Release Them Using the GUI

Follow these steps to edit a replenishment order using the edit-in-spreadsheet feature and thereafter manually release the replenishment order using the Supplies and Demands page:

  1. Open the replenishment plan through one of these ways:

    • Use the Manage Plans page:

      1. On the Tasks panel tab, under Plans, select Manage Plans.

        The Manage Plans page opens.

      2. Under Search Results, select the replenishment plan that you want to open, and click Actions > Open.

        The replenishment plan opens in a separate page.

    • On the Plans panel tab, under Plans, right-click the replenishment plan that you want to open, and select Open.

      The replenishment plan opens in a separate page.

  2. Click the Open drop-down button.

    The Open Table, Graph, or Tile Set dialog box opens.

  3. Search for the Supplies and Demands table, and open it.

    The Supplies and Demands page opens under the replenishment plan.

  4. Under Search Results, click Actions > Edit in Spreadsheet.

    A dialog box opens and prompts you to open or save a Microsoft Excel file.

  5. Open the spreadsheet.

    The Connect dialog box opens and prompts you to connect to the application URL.

  6. Click Yes.

    A dialog box opens and prompts you to enter your credentials.

  7. Sign in with your Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications credentials.

    The spreadsheet is refreshed with replenishment orders in the replenishment plan.

    The replenishment orders generated by the replenishment plan are listed as planned orders in the spreadsheet.

    The rows with values under the Source Organization column represent transfer orders, while the rows with values under the Supplier and Supplier Site columns represent purchase orders.

  8. In the first table, enter the details for the item-location combinations for which you want to manually release replenishment orders.

  9. Click Supplies and Demands > Search.

    The spreadsheet is refreshed with the item-location combinations that match your search criteria.

  10. Select an item-location combination for which the value under the Release Status column is Release.

    • Follow these steps to make changes before releasing the replenishment order:

      These changes are lost the next time you run the replenishment plan.

      1. Edit the values under the implementation-related and Shipping Method, Source Organization, Supplier, and Supplier Site columns.

        A symbol appears under the Changed column for the item-location combination.

      2. Under the Release Status column, select Marked for release.

    • Follow these steps to firm the planned orders:

      Note: You don't always have to firm planned orders before releasing them. Whether you firm planned orders depends on your business requirements.
      1. Under the Firm Status column, select Firm.

        A symbol appears under the Changed column for the item-location combination.

      2. Enter values under the Firm Date, Firm Quantity, and other editable columns.

        The values under the Firm Date and Firm Quantity columns persist until you change them. The firm planned orders persist across plan runs until you change the status under the Firm Status column to Not firm or the replenishment plan is run with All selected in the Overwrite Firm Planned Orders field on the General subtab of the Supply tab of the Plan Options page.

      3. Under the Release Status column, select Marked for release.

  11. Repeat the previous step for the item-location combinations for which you want to manually release replenishment orders.

  12. Click Supplies and Demands > Upload.

    For the successfully updated rows, the symbol disappears under the Changed column. For the rows that aren't successfully updated, the symbol is retained under the Changed column, and information is displayed under the Status column.

    Save and close the spreadsheet.

  13. On the Supplies and Demands page, click View > Refresh.

    The rows you changed are marked with the Changed icon and reflect the changes you made in the spreadsheet.

  14. Select the changed rows, and under Search Results, click Actions > Mark for Release.

    The release status for the item-location combinations changes to Marked for release.

  15. Save the replenishment plan.

  16. On the Actions menu for the replenishment plan, select Release.

    The Release Plan dialog box appears.

  17. Click Yes.

    The Plan Status Details dialog box appears and provides you with the status of the release process.

  18. Click OK to return to the Supplies and Demands page.

  19. Under Search, click View > Refresh.

    For the manually released replenishment orders, the value under the Release Status column changes to Released and under the Action column to None.
