How You Capture the Country of Supply for Intrastat Reporting

You have the option to capture the country of supply for Intrastat Reporting.

When collecting arrival of goods or items for Intrastat Reporting, it's important that the country of supply matches the country a supplier shipped the items from. The country of supply is recorded from the supplier site provided on the purchase order. In some cases, a supplier might ship items from a different location. This change of location determines whether the arrival of items needs to be reported for Intrastat Reporting. To account for the location change, during receipt of goods, you update the Ship-from Site field to the country from where the supplier shipped the goods. The default value for the Ship-from Site field is the supplier site defined on the purchase order. However, you can update it to the location from where you receive the items. The supplier site updated on receipt is considered as a trading partner site. The Country Of Origin field for an Intrastat transaction is updated based on the Ship-from Site field entered in the receipt.

Here's how you update the supplier site for a receipt:

  1. From the Inventory Management work area, select Receipts in the Show Tasks field of the task panel. Then, select Receive Expected Shipments.

  2. On the Receive Expected Shipments page, search for a purchase order.

  3. Select a purchase order in the search results and click Receive.

  4. On the Receive Lines page, select an item and click View Details.

  5. Enter the quantity and subinventory.

  6. In the Tax Determinants section, search for a Ship-from Site.

Note: You can update this field if a purchase order is shipped from a site different from a site in which the purchase order was created. The country of origin for the supplier site is updated based on the value chosen in the Ship-from Site field.
  7. On the Search and Select: Ship-from Site dialog box, search for an address and click OK.

  8. Verify the value in the Ship-from Site field and click OK.

  9. Click Create Receipt and then Submit.

  10. Note the receipt number and click Done.

  11. On the Inventory Management page, click Search. Select Received Lines and Receipt from the drop-down lists, and search for the receipt number you noted in step 10.

  12. On the Manage All Lines page, click the receipt to view the invoice created for the purchase order.

  13. Click Submit to run Intrastat collections.

  14. Use the Enterprise Scheduler to view the status of the Intrastat collections.

  15. On the Manage Intrastat Transactions page, search for the purchase order to review the arrival Intrastat transaction.

  16. Select an Intrastat transaction and go to the Source Transaction tab. The Trading Partner Site field reflects the supplier site updated during receipt creation and not the supplier site mentioned in the purchase order.
