How you send only the shipment lines with prior reservations

You can select and send only the shipment lines that are previously reserved to a 3PL or WMS.

A new checkbox Prior Reservations Only is added to the Create Outbound Shipment Request process for this purpose. When this checkbox is selected, only the shipment lines that were previously reserved are sent to the external execution system, whereas the shipment lines that do not have an existing reservation are skipped.

Note: If the order quantity is only partially reserved, the shipment lines are either partially sent or not sent at all depending on the Reservation Behavior for Integration to External Systems parameter in the Manage Shipping Parameters page.
  • If the Reservation Behavior for Integration to External Systems option is set to Partially reserved lines, the shipment lines are sent only for the partially reserved quantity.

  • If the Reservation Behavior for Integration to External Systems option is set to Fully reserved lines, the shipment lines are sent only if the entire ordered quantity is fully reserved.

  • If the Reservation Behavior for Integration to External Systems option is set to All lines without creating Reservation, the Prior Reservations Only option is ignored, and all shipment lines are interfaced.

Additional Considerations

Here are a few points to consider before you send shipment lines to a 3PL or WMS:
  • You can send shipment lines to external systems by running the Create Outbound Shipment Request process with the Prior Reservations Only option in conjunction with the Pick-from Subinventory option. This ensures the creation of a detailed reservation.

  • You can create reservations for the requested quantity even if you didn't enable the Prior Reservations Only option. This allows you to create reservations for the ordered quantity when they are not made available for a shipment line.
