Configure a Connection for the OCI Object Storage Service in the Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Connector

This topic explains how a connection for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage service is configured in the Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Connector for feature-based forecasting.

Follow these steps to configure a connection for the OCI Object Storage service:

  1. In the Business Intelligence Cloud Connector, on the Configure External Storage task panel, click Configure External Storage.

The Configure External Storage page opens.

  2. Click the OCI Object Storage Connection tab.

  3. Click Add.

  4. Under OCI Parameters, do the following:

    1. In Name, enter the name of the object storage connection.

    2. In Host, enter the URL for the OCI Object Storage service.

The host name should start with "objectstorage."

    3. In Tenancy OCID, enter the cloud tenant OCID for the OCI Object Storage service.

    4. In User OCID, enter the user OCID for the OCI Object Storage service.

The OCID is for a user who can manage resources and read buckets and objects in the compartment of the OCI Object Storage service to which data extracted from Oracle Demand Management by the Business Intelligence Cloud Connector.

    5. In Namespace, enter the namespace of the bucket that you created in the OCI Object Storage service.

For more information about how to use this page, refer to the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Creating a Business Intelligence Cloud Extract guide (Chapter 2 > Configure Where to Load Data > Storage Type - OCI Object Storage Connection).

  5. Under OCI API Signing Key, click Generate API Signing Key.

A value is displayed in the Fingerprint field.

  6. Click Export Public Key.

    A .pem file is downloaded.

This is the user for whom you entered the OCID on the OCI Object Storage Connection tab of the Business Intelligence Cloud Connector.

  9. Under API Keys, click Add Public Key.

The Add Public Key dialog box opens.

Note: If three public keys are already listed under API Keys, you have to first delete one public key. An OCI Object Storage service user can't have more than three public keys.
  10. Select Paste Public Keys, and paste the copied public key in the Public Key field.

Alternatively, you can select Choose Public Key File, and select the file for the public key.

  11. Click Add.

The Add Public Key dialog box is closed, and the fingerprint for the added public key is displayed under API Keys. This fingerprint should be the same as that displayed in the Business Intelligence Cloud Connector under OCI API Signing Key for the object storage connection that you're creating.

  12. In the Business Intelligence Cloud Connector, under Verification, click Test Connection.

  13. Click Save.
