Set Up Feature-Based Forecasting for New Products

This topic provides the high-level process for setting up feature-based forecasting for new products:

  1. Set up the credentials for using the Oracle Internet of Things Intelligent Applications Cloud Service.

  2. Set up the credentials for using the Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Connector.

  3. Configure a bucket for a compartment in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage service.

  4. In the Business Intelligence Cloud Connector, create a connection for the bucket in the OCI Object Storage service.

  5. Configure the IoT Intelligent Applications Cloud Service to take the extracted data from the bucket in the OCI Object Storage service.

  6. Set up attributes at the item level for feature-based forecasting, and add them to the dimension catalog for your demand plan.

Collect data for these item attributes through the regular collection process or the file-based data import (FBDI) template for Supply Chain Planning items.

  7. Set up stored measures for feature-based forecasting, and add them to the measure catalog for your demand plan.

Collect data for these stored measures through the FBDI template for Supply Chain Planning measures.

  8. Create a forecasting profile for feature-based forecasting, or use a predefined forecasting profile for this purpose.

  9. Create relationships for the new product using the Manage Product Launch page or the FBDI template for Supply Chain Planning measures.

  10. Create an analysis set for the forecasting profile.

  11. Create a demand plan, and attach the forecasting profile and analysis set to the demand plan.

  12. Run the demand plan.
