Link Planning Cycle Tasks to External Systems

You can link planning cycle activities, tasks, action items, and decision items in Sales and Operations Planning to external systems outside of Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Planning. You can select a configured link from an open planning cycle task to open the link in a new tab.

For example, if you have a task to review and adjust the financial forecast in Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), you can configure a task link from Sales and Operations Planning to your EPM application.

When you create a planning cycle link to an external system in Sales and Operations Planning, follow these steps:
  1. In Name, enter the link to view when you navigate from a planning cycle task.
  2. In Application Name, select the name that you create in Manage Integration of Additional Applications. The name must start with SCP_EXT_LINK_. Refer to the Set Up the Application Integration for an External System topic for further instructions.
  3. In Base URL, the base URL that was configured for the Application Name is displayed.
  4. In Page Path, enter the remaining path with a plan token (#PlanName# or #PlanId#) or without plan context.
    • #PlanName#: Use this token to pass the plan member name.
    • #PlanId#: Use this token to pass the internal ID of the plan member.

The Page Path in a planning cycle link to an external system either can have a plan context or no plan context. For example, a URL link to a web page doesn’t require plan context. When specifying plan context in the Page Path, use a plan token. The system will replace the token with a selected plan when navigating to an external system with a plan context. The potential targets of navigation are displayed if you specify the plan context. If you go to a link with no plan context, you can't see any of the plans associated with the planning cycle as there’s no plan context in the configured page path.
