Tabs on Requirements Specifications and Requirements

The tabs distribute information and data about the selected requirements specification or requirement.

General Information Tab

You can use this tab to view basic information about requirements specifications and requirements. It has a Content field for a full description of the requirement, which is enhanced by the Rich Text Editor capability. The Content field also accepts graphics, attachments, and URLs; you can even insert and format programming code.

The General Information tab on requirements specifications includes the Requirements Specification, Description, Type, Status (read-only), and Product attributes.

The General Information tab on requirements includes the scoping attributes, which are Priority, In Scope, Fulfilled, and Estimates.

Attachments Tab

You can use this tab to add new attachments or view existing attachments for requirements specification and requirements. For example, upload a file or a URL to the requirement to provide more information about the requirement.

Here’s how you add attachments:
  1. From the Attachments side tab, click Add.
  2. Select the attachment type and category. Click Browse.
  3. Select the attachment and click Open.

You can also add multiple attachments in a single action. Just drag and drop, or select and move attachments to the Add Files window.

  4. Click Save.

Here's what you can do:

  • Check out and edit an attachment; check in when you’re done. A new revision is created when you check in the attachment.
  • View attachment revisions.

To view the revision history, click the File Revision History icon. You can download the current and previous revisions using the Download icon appearing against each revision.

To indicate the latest revision, the term latest appears against the revision and a check mark is shown. When you do a Save As on the requirements specification or requirement, only the latest revision is copied over.

  • Change the latest revision and quickly edit attachment details across multiple attachments. Here’s how:

On the Attachments side tab, click Direct Edit.

In the Revision column, select the revision you want to be considered as the latest.

You can also edit details such as title, description, category, and the revision.

Relationships Tab

The Relationships tab of a requirements specification displays the Innovation Management objects that are related to it.

On the Edit Requirements Specification page, click the Relationships tab. Click the Select and Add icon to add relationships. The Search field lists objects based on the user access to these objects. Ensure that you have the Review or Manage privilege on an object to add that object as a relationship to a requirements specification.

You can also delete object relationships using the Delete action.

Relationships Summary Tab

On a requirements specification, the Relationships Summary side tab has two tables. The Relationship table lists requirements in the structure that carry relationships. Also on a requirements specification, the Impacts Components table lists impacts from requirements in the structure.

The tables on this tab of requirements specifications are read-only tables. They automatically aggregate all established relationships with other business objects from all of the requirements in the requirements specification's structure. So, relationships created by users in individual requirements are summarized in the top-level requirements specification.

Analysis Tab

The Analysis tab shows a graph with estimates and fulfillment status; a few prerequisites are essential to populate this.

An analysis helps you make decisions based on the data you gather from the tables or graphs.
