Overview of My Maintenance Work

The My Maintenance Work page provides a mobile-friendly user experience to review and execute maintenance work orders. The new page works a little differently from the existing Maintenance Dispatch List page.

The My Maintenance Work page lets maintenance technicians perform maintenance work in addition to entering transactional data, and helps improve work efficiency. As a technician, you can use My Maintenance Work to report on tasks similar to those included in the maintenance dispatch list. The workbench additionally includes several advanced features that assist with maintenance. For example, you can execute work order operations out of sequence, create operation and handover notes, upload attachments, and take pictures using your device camera.

My Maintenance Work includes the following key capabilities:

  • My Maintenance Work is a smart search enabled page that automatically returns search results in a table when you navigate to the page. The count of the total number of rows returned is also included.
  • Each result row corresponds to a work order and an asset, not to the next open count point operation in a work order. The user gets a holistic view of a work order and can use a single work order to repair one or more assets.
  • The search region features a keyword search, as well as multiple ready-to-use filters, letting you further filter and refine the results. You can optionally create a saved search as well.
  • The logged-in user’s credentials, including resource instance and skills, can be optionally used to filter the results and provide a work queue of orders that require action.
  • For each work order result row, you can preview the work and report transactions. You are required to explicitly complete the work order. This lets you interact with the work order and report work order completion incrementally, or all at once.
  • All pages, and some regions, are enabled for guided journeys. Additional details on guided journeys are covered in the Maintenance chapter of the Implementing Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management guide.

The following table compares the work order capabilities of the Maintenance Dispatch List with the My Maintenance Work page:

Viewing the list of results by work order The page displays result rows at a work order level, including both released and completed orders.

Not available in this page.

The page only displays the next open count point operation, of a released work order, that is pending completion.

You must change the filter results and navigate into the work order to view additional details.

Keyword search Utilizes a smart search to allow searching across multiple attributes, including attributes such as Work Order Number, Work Order Description, Asset Number, Asset Description, Serial Number. Limited keyword search using attributes such as Work Order Number, Asset Number
Search filters

Filter chips provide an easy method to further refine your results.

Each filter displays the list of applicable rows, including the aggregated number of rows in the current results.

Filters can be easily combined and removed from the search, refreshing the rows.

List of value (LOV) based filters provide general filtering but could result in conflicting or even no result rows. Direct entry filters require a user to know the data to filter using these attributes.
Saved searches The page includes the ability to create personal or shared saved searches. Not available in this page.
Sort by Lets you organize your work order list results by work order number, work order description, planned start date, and planned completion dates. Sort features are available for the work order attributes.
Assign or unassign yourself for a work order

You can optionally assign or unassign yourself for a work order if your resource instance matches at least one operation resource. The assignments will reflect not only at the work order, but for each operation that has a resource match and resulting assignment.

You can unassign yourself if you have not reported any resource transactions using your resource instance.

Not available in this page.
My work queue

The logged in user’s credentials, including resource instance and skills, can be optionally used to filter the results and provide a work queue of orders that require action.

You can use the My Work filter to view:

  • Assigned work orders.
  • Qualified (but not assigned) work orders.
  • Assigned and qualified but not assigned work orders.

Assignments is an optional capability. If you are not using assignments, then you can disregard the My Work filter chip, as it will not return any results rows.

Not available in this page.

A user can be assigned to a work order operation resource. However, this is only useful in searching for assigned operations.

Preview a work order

You can preview key details of the work order, including:

  • Work Order header details

You can then edit the summary to your liking and save. After saving your work summary, you can view it in the Notes section of the Preview Work page.

Note: The AI Assist capability is optional, only enabled for the English language. and must be enabled for use in the work summary. Additional details for enabling AI Assist are covered in the Set-Up Maintenance chapter of the implementation guide.

Once all the required reporting and return information is provided, the Submit action will be enabled, allowing you to complete the work order.

The completion of the final operation in the work order, along with any additional details, will complete the work order.

A manually entered repair summary can be record in a single description field during completion.
