Overview of Measure Filters for Pivot Tables and Graphs

You can filter member combinations using measure filters in pivot tables and graphs for modules of Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Planning.

Note these points about measure filters:

  • You can create measure filters on the Measure Filters tab in the Selector Tool for a pivot table or graph for your demand, demand and supply, replenishment, sales and operations, or supply plan.
  • You can create filters for measures of the Number, Currency, and Percent data types.

You can't create filters for measures of the Date and Text data types.

  • You can create filters for measures that are or aren't editable.
  • You can combine measures with different granularities as the criteria for your measure filters.

The measures can include or exclude the Time dimension.

  • If you've selected a configure-to-order (CTO) measure on the Measures tab in the Selector Tool, the Measure Filters tab isn't available. Also, CTO measures aren't available in the Measure field on the Measure Filters tab.
  • You can't create filters on measures that use these functions:
    • Archive
    • Attr
    • Fpos
    • Fsum
    • GetTimePeriod
    • HistoryEndPeriod
    • Lead
    • Least
    • Lower
    • MeasureOffset
    • Moving_Maximum
    • Moving_Minimum
    • Moving_Total
    • Upper
  • On the Measure Filters tab, the Measure field displays only the measures for which you can create measure filters.

The available measures are in the attached measure catalog for your plan and not just the selected measures on the Measures tab. You can create filters using measures that aren't selected on the Measures tab for your pivot table or graph.

  • You can compare the measure in the Measure field to a value or another measure in the Value or Measure field on the Measure Filters tab.

The Value or Measure field displays all the measures in the measure catalog that's attached to the plan.

The limitations for creating a filter on a measure also apply to the measures that you can select in the Value or Measure field.

  • On the Measure Filters tab, when you select a measure that contains the Time dimension in the Measure field, you can select only the AND operator in the And or Or field.

You can add a maximum of three criteria for which you've selected a measure with the Time dimension in the Measure field.

  • You can select multiple measures as criteria on the Measure Filters tab. However, after you add the first criterion and select either AND or OR in the And or Or field, for the remaining criteria that you add, the And or Or field is grayed out and defaulted to your selection for the first criterion.

You can't have a mix of both operators.

Note: If you selected OR for the first criterion, for the subsequent criteria, the Measure field won't display measures that contain the Time dimension.
  • For predefined pivot tables or graphs, you can define and apply measure filters, but they won't be saved when you close the pivot tables or graphs or reopen the Selector Tool.

For user-defined pivot tables and graphs, you can define and save measure filters.

  • If you're using measure filters for your user-defined pivot table or graph with the functionality for table linking, the source table, target table, or both can contain measure filters.

For your user-defined pivot table or graph with measure filters, in the Manage Links dialog box, on the To Table, Graph, or Page Layout tab, when you select the Pass user-specified parameters option, the Include measure filters checkbox appears. When you select this checkbox, the displayed information in the target pivot table or graph is filtered by the measure filters in the source pivot table or graph. You can use the measure filters along with your selections in the Context to Pass column.

You can't include measure filters if you're linking your user-defined pivot table or graph to a page layout.

  • For the available member combinations for a measure filter, the measure values will be displayed for all configured periods in the pivot table or graph. The value for at least one of the periods will match the measure filter.

The Time dimension level of the pivot table or graph doesn't need to match the Time dimension levels in the measure filter criteria. For example, you can display months in your pivot table but configure your measure filter criterion by quarters.

  • Using the Measure Filters tab, you can filter member combinations using several dimensions. In contrast, using the Measure Criteria tab in the Advanced Filter dialog box that you open from the Members tab in the Selector Tool, you can filter member combinations using only one dimension.

The measure filters that you configure are applied to the members that you select on the Members tab. If you don't select any members, the measure criteria that you configure are applied to all the members in your plan.

  • You can use measure filters with page filters and summaries.
  • For a pivot table that has measure filters, when you click the Export icon on the toolbar, only the filtered rows are exported.

When you export the data, change it, and import it to the pivot table by clicking the Import icon on the toolbar, after you click the Refresh icon, the changed data is displayed according to the measure filters.

  • For a pivot table that has measure filters, when you use the scheduled process named Export Data in Table Format, only the filtered rows are exported.
  • You can access or update a pivot table with measure filters using a REST resource.

Only the filtered rows can be accessed and updated through the REST resource. If any updated row doesn't match the measure filters, it won't be displayed any longer.
