Overview of Item Relationships

Item relationships enable you to relate your internal item with another item or reference the item with a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), source system item, or cross-reference.

Types of Item Relationships

The types of item relationships are:
  • Trading Partner Item Relationships: A relationship between an item and a trading partner item such as a customer, competitor, supplier, or manufacturer.
  • Related Items: A relationship between two items.

  • Cross-Reference Relationships: A relationship between items and entities, such as old item numbers.
  • Spoke System Item Relationships: A relationship between an internal item and spoke system item that enables you to map and identify items that have been consolidated from multiple source systems into a single master item.
