Generate AI-based Formatted Product Descriptions
In Product Information Management work area, you can automatically create detailed product descriptions based on the existing attributes, which can include various formatting elements (such as bold, italics, bullet points, and embedded images). This provides more descriptive and visually organized product information. You can generate the product description when you're creating or editing an item.
- In the Offerings work area, enable the Data Governance and Data Consolidation features at the offering level for the Product Management offering.
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, set the ORA_SCM_GENAI_EGI_ITEM_DESC profile option to Y using the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
- In the Product Information Management work area, search and open the item in edit mode for which you want to generate a product description or create an item.

In Formatted Description, click AI Assist.
After some time, the product description displays within the Formatted Description field along with the features and benefits.
If you're not satisfied, click AI Assist again to view a different formatted description.
If you’ve manually entered a description in this field, then clicking AI Assist will use your content to generate an improved product description and then replace the existing content with the automatically generated description.
Also, you can edit the generated description using the Edit Formatted Description option.
Note: The AI capabilities for creating keyword rich product descriptions uses the item description as the input parameter. Hence, providing more descriptive details in the description will help create more appropriate descriptions. - Click Save to save the changes for the item.
