Cancel Order Lines

Cancel an order line in a sales order you already submitted or that's still in draft.

Assume you submit sales order 508597 for customer Computer Service and Rentals with two order lines, but must cancel the order line for the AS16901 item. Here are the quantities:

• Quantity of 1 for item AS54888 - Standard Desktop

• Quantity of 1 for item AS16901 - Phone

Cancel the order line:

1. Go to the Order Management work area, then search for and open sales order 508597.

2. Click Create Revision.

3. Click More Actions > Cancel Line on line two.

   Notice that the sales order sets new values for the attributes on the order line:

   • Quantity to 0

   • Amount to 0

   • Status to Cancellation Requested

4. Submit.

Cancel Lines That Are in Draft Status

Assume you create sales order 508597 but don't submit it. You instead save it to Draft status:

• Search for, then open sales order 508597.

• On the New Sales Order page, on line two, click More Actions > Delete Line.

Cancel Lines That Are Awaiting Billing

You can't update or cancel an order line that's in the Awaiting Billing status. You can only modify an extensible flexfield or attachment on the line. Instead, make sure the line is fulfilled or closed, then create a return order.

Cancel Lines That Are Shipped

You can't cancel an order line that's in the Shipped status. Instead, create a return order.
