Ship Order Lines in Different Shipment Sets

In this example, you will add four order lines, and you will ship three of them together in one shipment set:

You will add four order lines, and you will ship three of them together in one shipment set.

This topic uses example values. You might need different values, depending on your business requirements.

Assume you must ship the monitor, desktop computer, and modem together in one shipment and the tablet in another shipment.

Try it:

  1. Go to the Order Management work area, create a new sales order, then set the Business Unit and the Customer attributes.

  2. Display the Shipment Set attribute on the order line.

  3. Add 3 order lines for these items:

    • AS54888 Standard Desktop

    • CM15140 Monitor 19"

    • MKT703 Vision WireFreedom Modem

  4. Select any order line, click More Actions > Add or Modify Shipment Set, set the attribute values, then click Update Shipment Set:
    Attribute Value
    Shipment Set 1

    You can enter any alphanumeric value.
    Request Type Ship On
    Requested Date Accept the default
    Remaining attributes Set to meet your requirements.

  5. Set the Shipment Set attribute to 1 on each order line.

  6. Add the TABLET_FAM Product Family item, select its order line, repeat step 4 except name the set 2, then set the Shipment Set attribute to 2 on the tablet's order line.

Ship All Order Lines in One Shipment Set

What if you need to ship all lines together, but don't need more than one shipment set? You can set the Shipment Set attribute to 1 on the tablet's order line.
