Create a Rate Adjustment

  1. From the Navigator, click Customer Channel Management under Order Management to open the Programs page.
  2. Search for and select the active customer rebate program that you want to adjust.
  3. From More Actions, click Create Program Adjustment.
  4. In the New Program Adjustment dialog, enter the following information:
    • Adjustment Type: Rate Adjustment. This value is selected by default.
    • Name: Enter a name for the adjustment that is unique within the program.
    • Adjustment Effective Date: Enter the date from which the new rebate amounts apply.
    • Comments: Optionally enter information about the reason for the adjustment.
  5. Click Create.

In the Products region, review the eligible product rules. You can search by item or item description.

  1. From Action, click Edit.
  2. In New Rebate Amount, enter the revised rebate amount for each product rule that you want to change.
  3. Save the row and click Submit.

The new rebate amount must be different from the current amount and greater than zero. If you leave New Rebate Amount blank, the application doesn’t change that product rule.

When you adjust a product rule, the application creates a new revision with a start date equal to the adjustment effective date. It end dates the existing product rule one day before that date. If the existing product rule starts on or after the adjustment effective date, its start and end dates are the same.

After submitting the adjustment, run the Create Accruals for Program Adjustment scheduled process to process the adjustment. Once the scheduled process completes, the adjustment is moved to Closed status. To view the changed accruals, navigate to the Checkbook tab and drill-down to Earned to download the transaction details.

On the program’s General tab:

  • Select Show Active to display product rules effective today and future-dated product rules.
  • Select Show All to include product rules with past end dates.
  • Review the Revision column to identify changes created through rate adjustments.

The process considers accruals created for eligible sales orders; it doesn’t consider accruals created through manual adjustments. Sales orders that weren’t qualified before the adjustment don’t become qualified because of it.

If a product rule starts after the adjustment effective date, sales orders between the adjustment effective date and the product rule start date aren’t recalculated. Use a accrual adjustment when those transactions require correction.
