Manage Rate Adjustments for Customer Rebate Programs

Use rate adjustments to change the rebate amount for existing product rules in an active customer rebate program. For example, use a rate adjustment when a product’s rebate amount needs to change during the program period.

A rate adjustment creates new effective product rule revisions from the adjustment effective date. It doesn’t reprice existing accrued sales order lines. The application processes eligible sales transactions using the program’s date context.

You can create a rate adjustment only for an active customer rebate program when no other program adjustment is in Draft, Approval Pending, or Active status.

When you create a rate adjustment:

  • The adjustment effective date can be a past date, the current date, or a future date.
  • The effective date must be within the program start and end dates, including either boundary date.
  • You can change only the rebate amount for existing product rules.
  • The application displays eligible product rules that are effective on the adjustment creation date, and applicable future-dated product rules.
  • For a product rule with multiple revisions, the application displays only the latest revision.

Rate adjustments are intended for changing rebate amounts. You can’t use them to add products, qualifiers, conditions, or exclusions, or to change program dates or the date context.
